Psychological Background: Adrian is a walking "exception". While he takes his work, and his responsibility to his patients and his students seriously, that is about the only thing he does take seriously. He is always ready with a one liner, or a flirt to help ease the tension created by life's stressors.

When it comes to the work place, he allows the students and staff to enjoy their work, yet at the first sign that someone is not producing 350%, he is right there to explain to them the error of their ways and their thought processes. He tolerates authority at best, yet he never disrespects authority in public, and does not allow others to do so either. He also tends to praise in public and counsel in private.

Personality Quirks: Adrian has a habit of scratching his head when he is thinking. He also is prone to using military language as a rule, much to the dismay of those that might not understand it, and to the amusement of those who are not indoctrinated into its phraseology.

History: Adrian was born into a Marine Corps family, his father being a 24 year retired vet. He joined as well immediately after high school, and became a rifleman in the 5th MEB in Desert Storm. He was one of 24 combat casualties in the short period of hostilities, and while on recuperative assignment to Walter Reed Army Hospital, he started taking college classes to augment the long-distance learning he had been involved in while stationed at Camp Pendleton, Ca.

He was given a medical discharge from the Marines and attended George Washington University in Washington, DC for medical school, and did his internship and residency there, specializing in Trauma Surgery. He was hired by the Ocean Cove Medical Center after he discovered it while traveling through on vacation and applied for a position on staff.

While he was in the Marine Corps, he married the former Dorys Hernandez. She was a single mother, having had her son- Ken- at the age of 16. Dorys fathered Adrian's only biological child while he was in Medical School. Between the injury, and all of the time he spent away from home, and "ignoring" her while he was in medical school, she divorced him and moved to a few miles from Ocean Cove Medical Center. He finished medical school, and traveled to visit his kids when he got the position in the ER.
