5'5" Hobbies: Playing piano, singing, drawing, smoking . Psychological Background: Personality Quirks: Enjoys sitting on the porch with her coffee and cigarette. She really likes to do this to watch the sunset and does it almost every day. She does an aerobic dance exercise at least three times a week using a DVD at home. When nervous or unsure she plays with her hair and twirl it with her fingers. Background: Darla was born at Ocean Cove hospital and grew up in the town. She was an only child and her parents doted on her although she wasn't overly spoiled. In high school she was popular and was a cheerleader. She had decent grades but she wasn't sure she wanted to go to college. She wasn't sure what she wanted to do with her life. After she graduated she took a job for the summer as a waitress at the one truck stop. She wasn't that great of a waitress but the men liked her looks so she got decent tips. It was while working there that she met Nate. He came in every day for lunch and flirted with her. He eventually asked her out and they had a whirlwind relationship. They were married within six months. Darla's parents didn't approve of the relationship since Nate was twice her age. They felt he was taking advantage of her but they couldn't stop it either. Once she married him they would see her but they made it quite clear they would have nothing to do with Nate nor would they help her out at all. That she'd made her bed and she had to lay in it. She found out for sure how they felt when Nate was out of work for a few weeks and money was tight. They would not help at all but thankfully Nate got another contract.
Then the call came that Nate had attacked some people at truck stop. Thankfully no one was killed but Nate had been arrested. With how he was behaving they had taken him to the psychiatric ward of the hospital. Now she watched as her husband was restrained to a bed,listens to him cuss her out, and wondering what is going to happen next. She's scared and lonely and very attracted to the new doctor who is treating her husband. She knows it is wrong but she can't seem to help herself. Special Notes: |
Darla in many ways is very naive. She went from her parents home to being
Nate's wife. Although she dated in high school the only lover she has
ever had was Nate. She was always the good girl type and the only wild
thing she ever did was take up smoking. It never occurred to her that
Nate was looking for a mother for his daughter nor that he was too old
for her, that he was trying to recapture his youth with her. Now with
Nate in the hospital and Carrie off at school she feels very lost and
unsure. She really has no clue how to handle it all.
With
the marriage Nate wanted her to quit her job and be a stay at home wife.
Darla didn't mind doing this. She filled her days with taking care of
the house and helping to raise Carrie. Nate's daughter Carrie really resented
Darla since she wasn't that much older then her. They had a lot of fights
but once Carrie went to college things settled down. Now though with her
in college Darla didn't have as much do to during the day and with Nate
gone on the road for days at tie she was getting very bored. She was actually
starting to think maybe they should have a child of their own when Nate
started to act funny. First it was little things,complaining about how
she acted or didn't do things. Then he started accusing her of cheating
on him and even trying to poison him. He became abusive, verbally and
occasionally abusive. Darla didn't know what to do.
