Hobbies: Making others as miserable as he is, signing alimony and child support checks, and playing poker, which is a good way to insure that he can sign the afore mentioned checks AND make others miserable at the same time.

Psychological Background: Gregory Hamilton is a bitter, angry man. He started out as an idealist who wanted to have a home, a family and the good life. He became a doctor because he thought that was a good way to achieve those things for himself. Now the career is all that he has left.

Personality Quirks: He is caustic, cynical and makes scrooge look like a spendthrift.

History: Greg came from a nice family, in a middle class neighborhood. His college was paid for by his family and it wasn't much of a hardship when he found out that his girlfriend was pregnant. He married her happily, and their first child was born half way through his second year of college. 5 years and another child later, he found himself in an unhappy marriage, and thus in the arms of a woman that he thought would make him happy. He sired another child, and thus wound up divorcing his first wife and marrying his second...whom he found was cheating on him. This broke his heart, and he divorced her, rebounding into the arms of another woman, only to briefly go back to his second wife long enough to get her pregnant again. His third marriage lasted another 5 years before it ended badly because he was always working to support his previous wives and children that there was no time and little money for the current family and left him for his best friend.

Since then he has been throwing himself into his work, avoiding interpersonal relationships entirely. He grudgingly acknowledges his parents and siblings, and deals with his children when he has to, or needs to...because it is just another heart ache waiting to happen. Even if they don't hurt him directly, watching them deal with the real world as he perceives it will hurt him for their sake, so he buries his head, pays his child support and college tuitions and goes to graduations and weddings and other required moments but nothing more.

Because of three ex wives and 7 children, even though he is the chief of staff at a major hospital, he lives in a run down house, in a bad neighborhood (better tax break than if he were renting) and lives cheaply. Most people think he is scrooge incarnate, but the fact is he is dead broke after alimony, child support and tuition.
