Psychological Background:
Johnny is the ‘old man’ at the station and still remembers when firefighters were firemen, he truly respects the women that have become firefighters and paramedics. He sometimes forgets they are women.

Personality Quirks:
He picks up and drops some hobby or business venture on an almost weekly basis; his wife and his career are the only really consistent things in his life.

History:
Born August 28th, Johnny has a Native American heritage and grew up on a reservation. He has been engaged twice, neither lasted long.

He's dated a wide variety of women including a deputy, a reporter, a stewardess, and of course nurses. Surprisingly he actually married the first girl he dated, after loosing touch with her during high school.

Johnny was working at station 10 as a rescue man/firefighter before he joined the paramedic program, graduated, and was assigned with Roy DeSoto to Station/Squad 51. He has attempted to help improve the fire service. He has also served on the paramedic advisory committee and gone on television shows to help increase the public's awareness of fire safety and the paramedic program.

He has been responsible for causing a fire at the station when he attempted to fix a television. He is often the target of practical jokes. Occasionally he becomes emotionally involved with his victims. He seems inordinately accident prone for a paramedic.
