Background: Julia Kali Malina was born the only daughter of Keoni and Medori Malina. Her mother a Japanese woman who found her way to Hawaii where she met a native man and soon there after married. Julia has two older brothers, Analu and Kalani, who she is very close to. She was born in Honolulu, Hawaii where life seemed to be paradise for the young child. Spending most of her time in the care of her brothers while Keoni and Medori worked, she became a tomboy and roughhoused with her two older brothers. They spoiled her much more then their parents could, they gave her more time then their parents could with having to work forty plus hours a week. There was days when the children would barely see their parents, especially during the high tourist season.

Their family was a working family. The off season from school everyone worked in some form or fashion. Analu and Kalani played drums for a local hotel that put on a nightly luau where they would play the drums for dancers. During this time is when Jules would mimic the hula dancers until those attending the luau got such a kick out of the little girl dancer that finally the hotel manager began to pay her to dance with the dancers.

When Julia started high school, she soon found out that her brothers were over protective. They didn't like anything she was involved with and usually chased off any guy that took an interest in her. More then one fight happened between the three of them but once the fights were over they would act as if it never happened. All through high school Julia knew she wanted to be something more then just another service person for visiting tourists. She seen how people talk and treat her brothers and parents to know she did not want that for herself. She'd often asked her family about it, but they all took pride in what they did. This time in her life, Medori had found time to open up her own little shop where she sells her own hand painted silk clothing. Her father, Keoni and brother, Analu, have started a gardening service and work has landscapers for several of the larger hotels around Honolulu. Kalani stayed with music and performs natural Hawaii music with a troop of traveling Hawaiian dancers.

Julia entered college a the age of eighteen, sifting through the courses. She decided she had wanted to become a nurse after visiting a local hospital to see a friend. Entering into college she majored in nursing, with a minor in Eastern Healing Practices. College was a long and tiring task since she had to work and attend classes. As the years passed, finally at the age of twenty-two she graduated in the top ten percent of her class. Julia found now she had many offers, but she decided to take one year and finish off the minor in Eastern Healing Practices before taking two years intern and gain some hands on practice as a RN.

Now at the age of twenty-five, Jules moved from Honolulu to Ocean Cove California, where she's finding herself a new life in the coastal California city of Ocean Cove.
