Psychological Background: Lance is basically an easy going guy. He is however a stickler for detail. ( He likes to go know what is happening on " HIS watch. " ) He knows the hospital inside and out. Lance never looses his cool, and works best under preasure. Lance NEVER looses his cool. He has a great sence of humor, and can dish it out just as good as he can take it. ( his specalty are practical jokes.)


Personality Quirks: Although his job has a great deal of paper work, he likes to be in the thick of the action. He has a unique tallent for always being just were he is needed at JUST the right time.

History: Lance was born to Karen and Alex McNight. Alex was a an Asst Fire Chief, and Karen was a 911 Operater. When Lance was 4 Alex was promoted to Fire Chief of Fire Hall #4, and soon after his mother became a 911 Supervisor. At the age of 7 Alex was killed in the worst fire the city of Ocean Cove has ever seen but he died saving his entire crew.
Karen ended up quitting her job, and went back to school. She became a teacher, and teaches High School science. She will be retireing soon, and after many years of being a widow, is starting to enter the dating world again.

Lance was always a inquisitive child. He HAD to know why. He always was a fast learner. and loved to teach himself. He always had a flair for the sciences and music in school. Growing up, he wanted to be a scientist. At the age of 5 his parents got him an accordian, and he practiced constaintly. When his father past away, it hit his family hard. Lance gave
up the accordian, and began to slip in his school grades. He went to being an A student to being a C+. and stayed there all through elenentery, and JR High. When High School came around, Lance was active in sports, ( wrestling, football, and rugby.) and picked up a bass guitar. He formed a garage band, and it actually had a little bit of local success. The band
was called Blaze. The group disbanded because they all graduated and went their seperate ways.

Lance was not sure what he wanted to do with his life after High School. It was then, he was approached by an Army recrueter. He joined the Infantry, and became a foot soldier. After 5 years, he wanted more. He made a transfer, and remustered to the Medical Corp. He became a feild medic. and rose to the rank of S/Sgt.

S/Sgt Lance McNight was a highly decorated soldier. He searved in Somalia, Angola, the former Yugoslavia, basically he went were ever there was a hot spot. But, it was in the first Gulf War that ended his military career. He was a memeber of a patrol that fell under fire while rescuing the crew of a downed Huey. They managed to get the chopper crew out, but
not at the expence of Lance taking sub machine gun fire in the chest at close range. He was not expected to make it, but he did. He was released from he Army soon after.

After he was released from the Army, Lance did'nt know what he wanted to do. He was 36 years old. Spent most of his adult life in the Army. He became a Security Guard, and drifted in sited for a year. Then, he applied at the hospital as a Protection Officer. ( basically Hospital Security.) He rose through the ranks. It was stated from the start that he had a nak
for the job. Always quick with the restraints when needed. and is great with people. ( no matter if it's someone being difficult in the lobby, or a mental paitent.) Lance's phylosiphy is: IF you have to use fisticuffs, you already lost. He is GREAT at defusing situations.
